New Band for the Melting Point
If possible, I would really like to hear a new band to Athens play at the Melting Point. Their name is NELO, and their music is to die for!!! I've been listening to their shows around downtown Athens this past semester and really think that they would make a great addition to the Melting Point's list of shows!! I don;t kow how to contact them, but if you could get them to play there, that would be fantastic!!!

chastain east???
I had the pleasure of coming to the Rowan/Rice show this past Thursday evening and was impressed with the venue, sound and the food/drink. However, something needs to be done about the level of conversation (loud, OBNOXIOUS conversation) at some of the rear tables near the courtyard. It was embarrassing. I swore that I would never return to Chastain Park in Atlanta because of the lack of attention paid to the artist and continuous conversation. If my next trip to MP is a repeat performance, I will not return there either. Just shut up, folks! sweetriver athens, ga

Saturday night
Thanks for the great music on Saturday night! We loved hearing some favorite Athens musicians....and finding some new favorites!

Full Grown Band
Would love to see the rocking, bluesy folks from the Full Grown band from Charlotte be invited down to Athens! http://fullgrown.net/

october show
You finally have The Codetalkers, what a treat! And we are all going to jump for joy to hear them with Joe Craven. My sister and I saw Joe with David Grisman's band about a dozen times and the highlight of it was ALWAYs Craven with that genius mind he posesses. THANKS - we'll be there.

Nick Edelstein Band
While listening to Nick and his band, you might feel like you are actually at an Eric Clapton show...the smooth rythym guitar and melodic, rock and jazz sounds sooth the soul. He is truly an exceptional artist and would be a great addition to your line up.

Marcia Ball
I see by Marcia Ball's itinerary that she is booked solidly for over a year. Any chance of getting her back? I saw her with my daughter who is a big fan in 2006 during spring break (not a good time for an artist), and she was fabulous. It was my first time at The Melting Pot, but I've been back twice since and plan to hear Francine Reed again on Sat. night. Thanks for providing us with this kind of entertainment at such a reasonable cost.

September show
There is a female trio I have heard on Radio Paradise called "The Wailin' Jennys". Excelent sound, great harmonies, great songs. Perfect for the Melting Point. They are in Savannah, Sept. 22. A stop in Athens sure would be nice.

Bring Tift Merritt back!
Howdy MP, Listen, and listen closely: Tift Merritt (solo artist, formerly lead singer of "Chatham County Line" and affiliated with "Two Dollar Pistols" out of North Carolina)has a new album coming out next month! It's her 3rd record, and I'm certain that it will be auditory filet mignon like her two other Grammy nominated efforts. I had the great pleasure of catching her show at your place in Oct. of '06, and I WANT YOU TO GET HER BACK! PLEASE! Her tour dates are filling up fast. As a friend, see what you can do. Keeping the faith, Gina*

Grateful but not Dead
Just wanted to say that the Tony Pritchett Band, aka Sons Of Sailors aka Pritchett Brothers Band is glad to be part of the ongoing music scene that is The Melting Point. There are ghosts in that room...benevolent spirits that really help with the ambiance. The management and staff treat us local, Georgia geezers as if we were stars coming in from New York, California or Nashville. Wes Delk is incredible and knows how to make a band feel comfortable. The sound system is the best! Our audience is always receptive and excited. That makes us want to keep sweatin' and frettin' until we drop. We hope to continue to be included in the lineup. -Captain Tony
